West Perth Honours Wally Price Wally Price, the West Perth back p6cket player, was presented with a life membership medal by Mr. S. Heal, M.L.A., a West Perth vice-president and former captain-coach of the team, at the club's annual reunion in the Leederville Town Hall last night. Mr; Heal Said that Price had already played 235 games for the club, and as he was only 27 years of age he should give West Perth' several more years of valuable playing service. Mr. Heal said that, iq addition to his worth as a player, Price was valuable as a clubman. In reply, Price said that he had beeh lucky in his football career and had received few injuries. Ground Amenities In responding to the toast of the Perth City Council, the Lbrd Mayor (Mr. J. Murray) said that the council realised its responsibility for the provision of suitable amenities at Leederville' Oval and other sports grounds within the council's boundaries. Because of the scarcity of building materials, many improvements contemplated by the council could not be carried out as quickly as the council wished.However. However. the council was prepared to spend money as soon as materials were available. Mr. Murray congratulated the West Perth team on its high standard of football in recent years. The president of the league (Mr. R. P. Rodriguez) congratulated Peter O'Donohue, the West Perth coach, for "his courageous effort" in the grand final last year. O'Donohue went to the full back " position and played against the South Fremantle centre-forward, Bernie Naylor, when the West Perth full back, Ray Schofield, was injured. (Picture, Page 21.)
