Port Soon To See Last Of Its Trams Although no definite date has been fixed, the last of the Fremantle trams will be withdrawn from service before the end of next month. The matter is at present being considered by the manager of the Fremantle Municipal Tramways Board (Mr. C. W. Jerrat), who will submit his report to the Fremantle City Council on Friday. It is believed that Mr. Jerrat will then recommend the date on which the trams should be withdrawn from service. At present the board has only two tram services running-one to Bicton and Palmyra and the other to South Beach, along South-terrace. Now that the board has sufficient petrol buses on hand, it will be able to cope with the two extra services. The board has been losing money on the tram service but, while it was also supplying electricity to the city and surrounding area, the losses were compensated.
