A New Police Station At Fremantle As a result of the swearingin of 22 former members of the Harbour Trust patrol as fulltime policemen before the Commissioner of Police (Mr. T. H. Andersen) yesterday morning, a new police station -the Victoria Quay stationhas appeared in the metropolitan area.The The new men in the force will be ordinary police officers. but their duties will be confined to the wharf as previously. Sgt. G. R. Johnston will be in charge of the patrolmen. The Fremantle water police, and the pillage detection staff will also be under his command. Previously the men had been members of the Coastal Dock. Rivers and Harbour Works' Union. However, when this union was deregistered by the Arbitration Court because of a strike in February, the patrolmen applied successfully to the Police Union of Workers for membership.
