Sir Frank Gibson Decides Not To Nominate Again In a brief statement after a meeting of the Fremantle City Council yesterday afternoon, the Mayor (Sir Frank Gibson, M.L.C.) formally announced his decision not to nominate for the forthcoming election.

Nominations for vacancies on the council will close on November 10 and an election will be held on November 24. In recording his appreciation of Sir Frank's long service to the community Cr. W. F. Sam-son declared that he would nominate for the mayoralty. "I also wish to say," Cr. Sam-son said, "that Cr. E. M. Davies has graciously decided not to oppose me." Cr. Samson has been a mem-ber of the council for 15 years. With the exception of a two-year period between 1924 and 1926, Sir Frank Gibson has been Mayor of Fremantle for 29 years. He will make his oficial fare-well speech at a meeting of the council on November 19.

SIR FRANK GIBSON, M.L.C.
