Brumbies For Kimberleys; A Long Trek NORSEMAN, Thurs.Brumbies from the Norseman district will soon be used as stock horses in the Kimberleys where horses are now scarce. A Northern Territory drover, Wally Dowling. who arrived here today, intends droving a mob a distance of about 1.600 miles to Hall's Creek by way of Kalgoorlie, Wiluna and the Canning stock route. Mr. Dowling. who shifts about 4,000 head of cattle a year, said he would keep 70 brumbies for his own use and sell the remainder to station owners. Mr. Mr. Dowling has travelled the Canning route nine times, but now takes cattle mainly to Wyndham and Queensland.
