CHINESE CRUCIFIED IN BORNEO

New Twist To Japanese Brutality From Our Special Correspondent JESSELTON (Borneo), Sept. 29.

Japanese at Kimanis, south of Jesselton, crucified a Chinese whom they suspected of helping the Australians.

A Chinese named Wong Ah Sang has told Australian intelligence officers that his cousin, Wong Nyap Chong, was arrested at Bongawang by four members of the Japanese Kempei and two native police boys. Wong Ah Sang followed at a safe distance to Kimanis, where his cousin was taken to a house, held up, and then pinned to the wall with six-inch nails driven through the palms of both hands. Wang Ah Sang said—"l watched through a hole in the wall, but the Kempei ordered me away. I could still hear screams, and saw my cousin being beaten with a piece of wood five feet long, which had a number of six-inch nails driven through it. This continued for three hours, and when the victim became unconscious he was re-vived with water and given further beatings. When dead, he was thrown into a shallow trench, and our request to give him a decent burial was refused."
