Defeat Brighton For Title

By defeating the minor premiers, Brighton, in the lacrosse grand final on Saturday, West Torrens won its first A grade premiership

in fine style. Timing its run well. Torrens. by 3 j superb second hall ol tbe minor round,! in which il debated all comers, climbed from bottom in the first h?lf 10 the top. In doinc so. it has defeated Brighton three times but never so well as on Saturday. From the very nrst draw they set about their task in a purposeful manner, and soon gained a two-goal lead, which they held at the long interval. Up to this stage Brighton bad tried every defence man on Bisbop. in an attempt to check his guile, but to no avail. At half-time the seasiders even brought Oooley out of coal on to the attack, -in en endeavor to break up their system, but the gold and blue: went further away to have the name in their safe keeping bv the last change-over. Everv man on tbe Torrens side was fit their too form, with Hewitson the best man on the ttround. with brilliant elear-Blackmore and Gooley. rave fine exhibitions of clearing Irom the gnat creases.
