Allen Doone Dies After Operation

New York, May 11. — Allen Doone, Irish-American actor, who played with his own company in Australia from 1909 to 1938, died after an operation in Reno, USA.

He was born in County Water-ford, Ireland. His parents took him to America when he was a year old and before he took up acting and singing he was one of America's champion all-round sportsmen.

He travelled with 24 Irish actors and his first Melbourne play, at the Bijou, was "Sweet County Kerry." Later ones were "Parish Priest," "In Old Donegal," and "Lucky O'Shea." His leading lady was usually Edna Keeley.
