Incentives Exceed Dividends

Incentive earnings by the 1.043 employes of Pope Products Ltd.- had been up to double the

amount paid in dividends io shareholders, said the managing director (Mr. S. Barton Pope) last nightOn behalf of directors, he was welcoming about 350 employes and their wives to the opening of the Pope recrea-tional hall provided by the firm for its Beverley employes. Excellent relations existed between the management and employes, and the good sports record of the latter had prompted the directors' gift, Mr. Pope said. Spokesmen for the employes thanked the directors. Representatives of the Chamber of Manufactures and the Trades and Labor Council were present. The new hall, 100 ft. x 60 ft., was officially opened by the Mayor of Woodville (Mr. W. A. Hoskin). Its amenities include a kitchen, storerooms and canteen, and a film projector and stage are provided.
