AIR CRASH INQUIRY Names Of Counsel To Appear. The names of counsel who will appear in the Amana air crash court of inquiry which will open in the Supreme Court, Perth, on February 6 were announced yesterday. Mr. Jus-tice W. B. Simpson, of the Canberra Supreme Court, will preside and about 50 witnesses will be called. The inquiry is expected to last ten days. Mr. Justice Simpson will be as-sisted by two assessors, Mr. D. B. Hudson, a Qantas Empire Air-ways aeronautical engineer, and Capt. J. W. Bennett, a British Commonwealth Pacific Airlines pilot. Counsel will consist of Mr. L. D. Seaton, K.C., and Mr. B. Simpson, both of Perth, who will appear under instructions from the Commonwealth Crown Soli-citor. Mr. H. A. Winnecke, K.C., and Mr. R. J. Leckie will appear for the Department of Civil Aviation, and Mr. G. A. Pape for Australian National Airways. The registrar of the court will be Mr. J. E. B. Ollquist. Mr. Pape represented the Mac-Robertson-Miller Aviation Co. in the inquiry into the crash of the Fitzroy which occurred at Guild-ford in July, 1949. The Amana crashed near York in June last year with the loss of 29 lives.
