CATTLE STEALING CHARGE Heavy Bail Allowed When James William Rathbone (36), dairy farmer of Derry Downs, Mardella, was charged in the Perth Police Court yesterday with having stolen £100 worth of cattle from the West Australian Government, Sergeant A. 0. Fiebig who prosecuted asked that the charge be amended. The amended charge, he said, should read that Rathbone, at Mardella, between December 2, 1948. and October 10, 1950. stole 50 cattle and 601 gallons of-*1milk -of a total value of £1,315, the property of the W.A. Government. The case was remanded for eight days on Rathbone's own bond of £500 and a surety for £500 after Mr. W. J. Wallwork, S.M., had ruled that as the amendment was a long one a further charge should be laid. Asking for a heavy bail Sergeant Fiebig said that Rathbone had been flown back to Perth from Adelaide under an order of extradition. Mr. F. Curran appeared for Rathbone. Divorces Granted Mr. Justice Jackson granted orders nisi in divorce in three undefended suits in the Supreme Court yesterday. The parties, with the plaintiffs named first in each instance, were as follows: Mary Catherine Gook v. Albert Henry Gook. Ground: Adultery with Agnes Green. Mr. P. E. Corser appeared for the plaintiff. Elizabeth Stewart Doak v. William Ronald Doak. Ground: Five years' separation. Mary Loulse Buzza v. Arnold Haines Buzza. Ground: Adultery with Shirley Flynn. Mr. J. Dunphy appeared for each of the two preceding petitioners and Mr. R. J. Stoddart represented William Ronald Doak on the question of custody, maintenance and costs. CONTESTED ACTION. Concluding evidence was heard by Mr. Justice Walker in the Supreme Court yesterday in a contested action in which Sydney Colin Pix seeks dissolution of his marriage to Lilian Annie Pix, who, he alleges, committed adultery with Valentine Francis Browne. His Honour will hear final addresses of counsel at 11 a.m. next Monday. Mr. IC. Hatfield appeared for Pix, and Mr. H. N. Walker for Mrs. Pix and Browne, who deny adultery. Alleged Indecent Dealing The Chief Justice (Sir John Dwyer) and a Jury began the hearing in the Criminal court yesterday of a case in which Lionel Eric siggins 134), plumber, of Marine-parade, Scarborough, pleaded not guilty to having at Nedlands on August 19 unlawfully and indecently dealt with a girl aged six yeare. The hearing will be continued at 10.30 a.m. today. The Crown Prosecutor (Mr. G. J. Ruse) appeared for the Crown, and Mr. N. P. Lappin for the accused.
