AIR MINISTER'S THANKS CANRBERRA, Oct. 13: The Minister for Air (Mr. White) has sent the following letter to Mr. G. R. Inkpen, of York, Western Australia: "My attention has been drawn to the part played by you in connection with the crash of the Amana aircraft on June 2. It is to be deeply regretted that, despite the skill and determination exhibited by you in reaching the wreckage so quickly, the sole survivor of the accident subsequently died. "As Minister for Civil Aviation I wish you to know that your actions on that occasion are deeply appreciated and it is gratifying to learn that one who served as you did in the R.A.A.F. during wartime should continue to act, in peacetime in a manner so typical of the fine traditions of the service."
