F. WILLIAMS PREFERS TO WATCH Fred Williams, captain-coach of Subiaco last year,. apparently is no longer to be 'regarded as a regular player. He did not train on Tuesday and last night he was an onlooker. He told the selectors that he was not satisfied with his form and had reached the stage where he preferred to make way for a younger man. In addition, he found it difficult to train regularly. The selectors prevailed on frim to remain on the training list and he agreed to make his. services available when required. He will not play tomorrow, against Perth. Merv Beckham will play his 100th game for Subiaco tomorrow. There will be. changes in the side. The centre position is causing some concern and a suitable full forward has not yet been found. There is a possibility that ruckmen will change at full forward. Althorpe, the goalkeeper, is not certain to play owing to a heavy cold and if he is missing Posa,. the second team's full back, will take his place. J. Sweet trained last night and is expected to play tomorrow. J. Smith will make a welcome reappearance; Howe will play again; and Fenner will play at half-back. Perth has a formidable list of injuries this week, Moss (leg). Shaw (leg) and Zeuner (shoulder) all being unavailable. Shaw was hurt in an army match on Wedaesday. Offcials, however, are confident that the team will do well. G. Batley, the coach, will come to the rescue and play in goals. 8.1 Carr, a Promising Northam player, whom Claremont has tried to sign on unsuccessfully, probably will be on a centre wing. Wallace, Wray and Addison are all likely to rove.
