Honour For G. Doig Life membership of the East Fremantle Football Club was conferred on G. Doig, the former leading State goalkicker, at the club's reunion in the Fremantle Town Hall last night. In moving the recommendation, Mr. J. Dolan, last year's coach, said: "George Doig has had an enviable record with the East Fre mantle Football Club. He started in the association in 1932 when he gave a glimpse of his future form when he kicked 128 goals in the season. In 1933 he joined the league side and in the next nine years kicked over 100 goals each season. He is the only East Fremantle player to have kicked over 100 goals in a season and he holds the Australian record of 152 goals in one season." Mr. Dolan went on to say that Doig had played 140 consecutive games for his club and was an ob ject lesson to present-day players who had found the going hard. George Doig is the fifth member of the Doig family to become a life member of the East Fremantle club. The others are: J. S. Doig, Jno. Doig, C. Doig and Charlie Doig. Mr. Dolan continued, "George Doig has been an ornament to the game and an example in every respect. He played 202 league games and kicked 1,108 goals." In reply Doig said that he had had a happy association with the club and hoped that he would be of some assistance in the future. Office-bearers were elected as follows: Patron, Mr. G.
