Andrew Wittenberg, a foreigner, employed as a carpenter on Quinyambi Station, 100 miles from MHparinka, committed Buicids by hancine. He was onlv oae week nn the

At a sitticg~ of the Local Lind Board, presided over by Mr. Thompson, permiaspa was granted to the lessees of Yaaeaania, Momba, Yantara, Salisbury Downs, Quinjambi, and Tarella to execute improvements to the estimated cost of £29,012. The river here is 27 ft. 6 in. and stationary, bat as it is falling rapidly at the head, and the Sarwoa is now only 6 feet, having fallen 25 feet within the last three weeka, and there is only 6 ffc S in. at Botxrke and 11 feet at Lcuth, a rapid fall most take place very shortly, in which casa, and especially as the Murray ia low, it is estimated that the river will remain open for navigation to Wileannia for aboat eix weeks.
