SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS Town Planning Study By W.A. Woman Miss Margaret Feilman, of Mountjoy-road, Nedlands, has been awarded a British Council scholarship for 1948-49. At present employed in Melbourne m the town planning section of the Department of Works and Housing, she plans to study for a town planning degree at the Durham University. The scope of the British Council's scholarship was extended this year to non-academic students. Apart from Miss Feilman, the only West Australian

winner, a public health officer and a hospital matron specialising in obstetrics have been awarded scholarships together with a lecturer in history, a director of travelling art and a woman doctor who will study child health work in England. The scholarships are for at least one year and are valued at £430 each an academic year plus travelling expenses. REGISTERED ARCHITECT. Aged 27, Miss Feilman is a graduate of the University of W.A. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree as a parttime student after obtaining her Leaving certificate from Perth College. She is also a registered architect.
