-HONEYMOON IN JEEP Unique Enterprise Begins NEW YORK, June 17: Cheered by about 100 amazed wharf labourers, Major Benjamin Frederick Carlin, of West Leederville (Western Australia) and his attractive American wife Eleanor left last night on the first transatlantic section of their proposed honeymoon voyage round the world in an amphibious jeep. They hope to reach the Azores in a month and then proceed to Casablanca. Earlier in the afternoon the Carlins made an unsuccessful attempt to begin the voyage when a six-knot tide sent them spinning up-river, but as the tide turned they chugged away into a maze of shipping at their full speed of five knots. They intend to drive overland from Casablanca to India and then putter across the Pacific to San Francisco and drive to New York. They expect to complete the trip in five to six months.
