EAST FREMANTLE HISTORY "Of all the great exponents in East Fremantle's colours dur-ing its 50 years I name Jack Scobie as absolutely its most fully equipped and most ac-complished player." This statement is made by Mr. Dolph Heinrichs in "The Jubilee Book of the East Fremantle Football Club," a comprehen-sive, well-written account of the club's history from 1898 to 1947. A former champion him-self, Mr. Heinrichs has re-mained closely in touch with football and, in particular, East Fremantle's football and foot-ballers. He traces the history of the club from its earliest days, giv-ing a wealth of football in-formation and extremely inter-esting accounts of great games and intimate pen pictures of champion players. Of W. J. Truscott Mr. Hein-richs writes: "The State lost a great centre player when Trus-cott retired and I have no doubt that since then his place has not been filled by an equal." Mr. Heinrichs says of C. Jarvis that "as a half-back he stood on a pedestal of his own." He describes George Doig as "the Bradman of W.A. football." This book is the first of its kind published in this State and may inspire other clubs to have printed their histories.
