Ipswich, on the 5th November, the wife of Mr. T. R. Barker, of a son.

the Wansfell, at sea, of a son.

DAVIS.—On the 14th October, at her residence,

East and Brisbane streets, Ipswich, Mrs. Cole-man Davis, of a daughter.

FRYAR.—At Cleveland, on the 2nd November,

Mrs. Wm. Fryar, of a son.

GRANT.—On the 21st October, 1861, at Dal-

gangal, Gayndah, the wife of A. O. Grant, Esq., of a son.

HARRIS.—On the 13th October, at her residence,

Warwick, the wife of Jonathan Harris, store-keeper, of a daughter.

HOY.—August 22, Mrs. E. Hoy, on board the

Wansfell, at sea, of a daughter.

LACEY.—November 9, Mrs. Lacey, on board the

Wansfell, at sea, of a son.

MARTIN.—September 4, Mrs. S. Martin, on board

the Wansfell, at sea, of a daughter.

ROSS.—At Dalby, on the 26th October, the wife

of Andrew Ross, Esq., of a son.

SMITH.—On the 10th November, at William-

street, the wife of Thomas Fenwick Smith,

Esq., of a daughter.

TRUNDLE.—On the 7th November, at her resi-

dence, George-street, North Brisbane, the wife of Chas. J. Trundle, of a daughter.

THROWER.—September 24, Mrs. Thrower, on

board the Wansfell, at sea, of a son.

WORRELL.—On the 28th October, at her resi-

dence. South Brisbane, Mrs. Frederick S. Worrell, of a daughter.

MARRIAGES.

DIX—SCOTT—On Thursday, November 7, at

Ipswich, by the Rev. G. M. Reed, Mr. R. E. Dix of Bigge's Camp, to Ellen, second daughter of Mr. John Scott, of Dumfrieshire,

Scotland.

STEVENS—DOUGLAS.—On the 15th October,

at Redbank, by the Rev. G. M. Reed, John Stevens, Esq., of Rockhampton, to Miss Agnes Douglas, of Kangaroo Point, Brisbane.

DEATHS.

BRETT.—On Friday morning, 25th October, at

Ipswich, after a long and painful illness, borne with Christian fortitude, Mr. Thomas Brett, aged 37 years, leaving a widow and four children to lament their loss.

BARLOW.—October 7, Eliza Barlow, aged 1 year,

on board the Wansfell, at sea.

FITZSIMMONS.—At Ipswich, November 9th,

1861, Mr. Peter Fitzsimmons, aged 75 years, after a long and painful illness, which he bore with Christian piety. " Requiescat in pace." GOWLETT.—August 29, George Gowlett, aged

2 years, on board the Wansfell, at sea.

HAMILTON.—October 20, Ellen Hamilton, aged

5 years, on board the Wansfell, at sea.

HOY.—August 29, Emma Wansfell Hoy, infant,

on board the Wansfell, at sea.

JACKSON.—On Friday, the 1st November, of

pulmonary disease, Mr. Edward Jackson, com-positor, of the government printing office, in this city, aged 37, for many years connected with the mechanical department of the " Morning Chronicle," London. A widow and five children are left to lament their loss.

LYON.—At Cleveland Point, Moreton Bay, on

Tuesday, October 22nd of inflammation of the abdomen, Arthur Sidney Lyon, Esq., in the 44th year of his age, many years resident in this district, being known and worthily re-spected as a man of considerable literary talent, having been either founder or proprie-tor of the ' Courier,' ' Free Press,' ' North Australian,' and ' Darling Downs Gazette.'

NAGLE.—On the 19th October, at Fortitude

Valley, Michael De Courcy Nagle, aged 32

years.

NEWMAN.—September 1, Charles Newman,

infant, aged 4 months, on board the Wansfell,

at sea.

O'CONNOR.—On Wednesday, the 23rd October,

at the Long Pocket, Ipswich, the residence of Mr. John Gribbal, Michael O'Connor, of the Commercial Hotel, Ipswich, aged 40 years,

leaving a widow and five children to lament

their loss.

PLEDGER.—August 6, Louisa Saville Pledger,

aged 2 years, on board the Wansfell, at sea.

RAFF.—Monday, November 4th, Harriet, infant

daughter of Mr. George Raff, aged ten

months.

TOMLIN.—September 2, Constance Tomlin, aged

2 years, on board the Wansfell, at sea.

WHITE—At Ipswich, on Friday, the 18th Octo-

ber, after a short illness, Mr. Benjamin White, aged 46, late of county Limerick, Ireland.
