Duchess of Gloucester will 9e grieved to hear of her death, sifter a short illness, at Sunninglale, England,, on January 16. Miss Horsey, who was an old Friend of the Duchess and oi ler family, accompanied their Royal Highnesses to Adelaide during their South Australian risit She left the Duchess's household last year, and recently had a long holiday in the south of 'ranee. In the last Birthday Honors she was awarded the MVO.

SCOT'S BRIDE Paisley (Scotland) bride Miss Griselda Pateraon wore an original gown, made in London from her own design, for her wedding on Saturday night with Mr. R. C. Sprigg, of Seaton Park, in Scots Church, North terrace. Adelaide. It was white corded silk with a strapless bodice covered by a little fitted jacket with roll colar, buttoned to the waistline. Her tulle veil was caught by two sprigs of orange blossom. Miss Ngaire Dolling was bridesmaid, and Mr. Bruce Atterton was best man. Dr. and Mrs. T. J. Marshall, of Springfield, received guests at a .reception in St. Helen's Town House, Prospect. The bride's travelling frock was tailored corded silk in donkey brown, worn with & fine straw cloche and beige accessories. She and her husband are honeymooning in Victoria before returning to, BA, where ht is senior geologist in the 8A Oeoogical Survey. They first met in England several years ago. ? ? ? ?

Betty's job is in statistics, and her fiance is doing postgraduate research in chemistry at Adelaide University. * * * * With their three sons, Philip. Michael and Campbell, Mr. and Mrs. Max Rungie have returned to Collinswood after six weeks in NSW. They stayed at Neutral Bay with Mrs. Rungie's parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Weir. SATIN BROCADE Pink and blue gladioli and elphiniums and silver honesty decorated Brougham place Con[regational Church, North Adeaide, for the wedding of Miss Xana Byrne, of Anganon, to Mr. Donald Mitchell, of Keyneton, on Saturday afternoon. Her bridesmaids, Misses Judith Addiwn and Judith Battle wore fuchsia and grey tulle over . grey moire taffeta, and straw cartwheel hats. Diana's parents, Mr. and Mrs. S. nto a long train. Her fourtiered tulle veil was sprinkled with seed pearls and held by \ Juliet cap and a coronet of jrange blossom. Her three bridesmaids. Misses Jynette Smith, Nancy Baker and Nanette Hewett, wore off-white moire faille and matching hats draped to one side with red roses to match their bouquets. Twin flower girls Patricia and Prances Major were dressed in lace over taffeta. Mr. Ross Makin was best man, the groomsmen were Messrs. Kevin Allen and Robert Turbell. The Revs. H. P. Finnis md B. R. Jones officiated. Many country families were entertained by Mr. and Mrs. Allen afterwards. The hostess wore mauve crepe dinner gown with a train, and matching Swiss straw hat. The groom's mother was in teal blue marquisette gown.The The newly married couple will drive to Sydney before settling at Mount Monster.

CHAPEL WEDDINGS In white georgette over satin, Suzanne, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. W. R. C. Morris, of Woodville, married Peter Walter, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Butterworth, of Port Augusta, in St. Peter's College Chapel on Saturday. Three frilled tiers on the skirt formed a train on the bride's gown. Her matron of honor, Mrs. Muriel Reid, wore finely pleated apple-green georgette ballerina, and bridesmaid Miss Josephine Morris's ballerina was maize-toned. Stirling will be the home of the newly married pair.

Miss Gwen May was the fifth bride in her family to wear the hand-made Brussels net veil held by a lace and satin Juliet cap. at her wedding with Mr. Neil Twelftree in St. Peter's College chapel on Saturday. Her frock was of marquisette and lace, with a train falling from the full skirt. Bridesmaids Misses Erica May and Marie Twelftree wore contrasting frocks of pale blue and pale pink broderie anglais and tulle, with little satin caps and face veils. The bride is the daughter ol Mr. and Mrs. A. W. May, of Curramulka, and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. H. W. S. Twelftree. of Urania, where they will make their new home. After the chapel ceremony, Mr. and Mrs. May entertained guests at The Bohemian.
