'Kangaroo' Shooting Postponed

From NORMAN MFABES

PT. AUGUSTA, Dec. 19.

A decision to abandon shooting tomorrow of shipboard scenes on the Moonta sas made bv the associate Dro

aucer of the technicolor nun 'Kangaroo' (Mr. Robert Snody) this afternoon. Ram had interfered with trork on the wharf and the necessary apparatus could not be shipped in the Moonta during the day. The weather forecast was for mrercast skies tomorrow which would ruin the gulf background to the scenes of the arrival of Peter Lawford and Richard Boone with veteran Finlay Currie from Sydney to SA. The postponement caused disappointment, in tbe film colony at Zanuckville and among many extras engaged in tbe town. This means a sixth revision of the shooting schedule and tonight Director Lewis Milestone attended a production conference with other executives to rearrange the schedule. If the weather clears tomorrow evening will be used to shoot a minor night scene in a street of Port Augusta. 'Hot Woather Best' The Director of Photography (Mr. Charles Clarke) has carefully studied scenic and lighting conditions for the shooting of other scenes around the town. 'We have the best clouds here when the weather is hot.' he said. 'When it is cool we can do interiors. 'Australians may smile at our hunt for kangaroos,' Mr. Clarke added, 'but they forget that Just as Australian audiences think Red Indians and gangsters career down every American street, our American audiences expect to find kangaroos in any film of Australia, so we have to show them kangaroos and cattle. 'We want to get some of the wonderful sunsets on the film. A sunset can give a picture a lift'
