'THERE was no meeting of the selection committee of the Queensland Cricket Association yesterday to choose the Queensland

O'CONNOR TO PLAY IN SYDNEY TEAM Brian O'Connor, who headed the Queensland Cricket Assocation's club bowling averages as a member of Eastern Suburbs A grade team last season, is to play for Petersham (Sydney) against Sydney University, at the Petersham Oval on Saturday. O'Connor transferred from Brisbane to Murwillumbah. He is a member of the R.A.A.F.. and is training at Bradfield Park, Sydney. O'Connor played in Sheffield Shield teams for Queensland, and represented the State in Australian Rules football. CRICKETER FOR R.A.A.F. The promising young Western Subu-bs A grade batsman, Noel Wright las joined the R.A.A.F. He left Bris-ane last night to visit his parents at Bundaberg. He will leave for the South on Monday. Wright, who is 21, played well for Bundaberg and Wide Bay, and afterwards joined Western Suburbs. Last season his best score was 115 against University. This season Wright had a club average of 34. VICTORIA'S PLANS MELBOURNE, Tuesday.— The Vic;orian cricket team for Queensland will eave a 'day late. Originally it was in;ended that the team should leave on ruesday, January 14, but as part of ;he wartime economies the eleven will lepart on January 15.
