Captain Barber with his party is now working at Renmark Flat, where he has been collecting piles for the further improvement, of the river. The high state of the water has

put a stop to pilednving for the present. The party are now engaged throwing back trees likely to fall into the river and create an obstacle to navigation. The steamer Brewarrina has new left the party, her contract having expired. It is expected that no further work piledriving will be done until the river falls.
