MISSING KETCH.

DRIFTING TIMBER FOUND.

Crew May be Alive.

ADELAIDE Sunday -A piece of timber picked up by Captain E. S. Hipkins in the ketch Nelcebee, about a mile and a quarter fiom Cape Hardy and 20 miles from Tumby Bav is believed to have come from the ketch Vivid, which, with a crew of three, has not been seen since it left Tumby Bay on April 9. The harbour-master at Port Lincoln (Captain H. R. C .Malcolm) lhas reported the matter to the chairman of the Harbours Board (Mr. E. A. Farquhar), who will arrange an inquiry into the dis- appearance of the Vivid, this week. Al-though a search by aeroplane for the miss-ing ketch was unsuecessfuil, it is probable that other searches will be organised. The vessel was built 52 years ago and was valued at £1,000. It was carrying 1,000 bags of wheat, valued at £450.

Mrs. Hilton Burgess, wife of the master of the Vivid, wishes to take part in the search foi her husband who, she says, was a good swimmer, and may have reaehed a small island. The other two men on board -Reginald Evans and E. S. Webb, both of Birkenhead- were also good swimmers.
