GRANDSON OF KAISER WEDS

Bride English Heiress A.A.P. And Our Special Reresentative LONDON. July 30.

Prince Frederick George William Christopher of Prussia—the 34- year-old son of "Little Willie" and grandson of the former Kaiser—

married Lady Brigid Guinness. 24, daughter of Lord and Lady Iveagh, at the ancient church in the village of Little Hadham. in Hertfordshire. A Press Association report of the wedding states that the Prince has been staying at a farm in the neighborhood belonging to Mr. Frank Harvey, at which he has been learning farming for 18 months. Tbe police asked that the cere-mony should be kept secret, and the rector refused press representa-tives permission to see tbe register after the marriage. The Prince and his bride intend to take up farming in the neigh-boring village of Much Hadham. Tbe Prince is known locally as George Mansfield. He was an un-dergraduate at Cambridge when war broke out. The Aliens' Tri-bunal decided that he could be pro-perly exempted from internment, and he lived for several months an parole with various friends. He was interned after tbe German break-through in 1940. arrived in America early in 1941. was re-leased from internment in Canada, and was among "trusted aliens" who joined the Pioneer Corps to clear up London's bomb damage. There has been no pub-lic news of his movements since then. The Prince, who is unmistakably like "Little Willie." was dressed as a civilian in a grey double-breasted suit for the ceremony. Lord and Lady Iveagh were present, and the only others were the rector and a young woman friend of the Har-veys. Prince Friedrich was called to Germany for military training in 1938. and during the Czech crisis was included in the German forces massed on the Czech frontier. Mrs. Harvey said that Prince Friedrich was violently anti-Nazi and hated Hitler. He thought of nothing but farming. Favorite Grandson Lady Brigid Guinness is the youngest daughter of Lord Iveagh, and one of the heiresses of tbe Guinness millions. The prince is a great-great-grandson of Queen Victoria and a god-son of King George V. He represented the House of Hohenzollem at the funeral of King George V., and was a royal guest at the present King's Coronation. Before the war he worked for months at Shroder's Bank, learn- ing the English banking system. Later, he joined the London agency of a German potash syndicate. He was tbe former Kaiser's favorite grandson, and frequently visited Doorn during his grandfather's lifetime. Prince Friedrich's eldest brother, Prince Louis—known to his friends   as "Lulu"—is the official Pretender to the German throne. Prince Friedrich and his bride have known each other for some years. They first met when the prince was at Cambridge. Lady Brigid, who has long fair hair, wore for the wedding a pow- der blue suit with a halo of match-ing flowers and ribbons. At the last moment an attempt to hold the wedding at Mr. Har- vey's house by special licence, in- stead of at the village church, was abandoned because of a hitch. Lady Brigid's elder sisters mar- ried Conservative MP's, who re- tained their seats last week. The eldest is Lady Dorothy, wife of Mr. Henry Channon, and the second, Lady Patricia, wife of Mr. A. T. Lennox-Boyd. former Parliamen- tary secretary to the Ministry of Aircraft Production.
