"BETTER FARMING" TRAIN.

Interesting Innovation.

A train to demonstrate better farming methods will be run through Gippsland early in October. This has been decided on by the director of Agriculture (Dr. Cameron), and the Railways Commissioners in conjunction, and at a meeting yesterday afternoon officers of the two depart- ments discyssed preliminary details. It is be-

lieved that the wealth produced by victoria's primary industries can be enormously increased by better methods. Farmers, however, have not the time or opportunity for much study and ex- periment and it is hoped that these will be assisted in their problems by the expert lec-turers and demonstrators who will accmpany the train, which will be equipped with models and apparatus, and will probably carry also high- class specimens of stud stock.

The trip will occupy a week.
