PORTRAIT DT BOARD ROOM

INNISFAIL, Feb. 33.-Some time ago an enlarged photo of the late Rev. Father Clancy, pioneer priest of the Innisfail district, was hung in the board room of the John-stone Shire Council by the chair-man (Mr. A. J. M. Laurie).

At last night's meeting of the council the finance committee re-ported having received from the "Back to Innisfail" Jubilee Cele-brations Committee an enlarged framed photograph of the com-mittee's chairman. Mr. Johnstone See Foy. with a request that it be hung in the board room as a mark of appreciation for the services rendered by Mr. See Foy during the celebrations.

i In hanging the portrait the

chairman said:

"Mr. See Poy performed notable service during the "Back to Innis-fail celebrations, and I think lt is highly fitting he should be given some recognition by the committee and supporters of that organisa-tion.

"Mr. See Poy is a son ot the first storekeeper at Innisfail and as he, like his late father, has done so much to promote the interests of this town and district, lt is there-fore only appropriate that his por-trait should bang In close proxi-mity to that of another notable pioneer, the late Rev. Father Clancy."
