TRADE AND SHIPPING.

Arrived on Monday the ship Eliza, 291 tons, Capt. Harris, from Dublin 9th July. Gene-ral cargo. Passengers, Mr. and Mrs. Clark, and child, Messrs. Ring, Armstrong, Lynch, Gerrard, White, Miss Cochrane, Miss Lo-vett, Mr. and Mrs. Allen, Mrs. McArdle and 2 sons, with 95 in the steerage. Also, for Sydney, Messrs. Henley, Dolan, Scott, Misses King, Allen, Collins, Work, Skelly, Mr. Wm. and 2 Misses Kinchela, with 91 in the steerage.

Arrived on Monday the bark Scotia, 310[?] tons, Capt. Watson, from Leith, 23rd June, with a general cargo-passengers Messrs. Gordon, Pearson, Mathewson, Wishart, Jack, Cray tie, McBeath, Connell, Innis. Inglis, McConon, Calder, Milne, Catto and Bernard, with their families. Among them are seve-ral farmers, joiners, upholsterers, & coopers.

The Lady East and the Edward Colston have sailed for Sydney.

The Currency Lass sails for Sydney on Sunday, and the Friendship for Launceston.

The Lang, Capt. Muddle arrived yesterday from the fishery with 83 tons sperm oil. The first mate. Mr. Woods, was killed by a whale,

The dry parching weather continues and wheat is up to between 8s. and 9s. a bushel. No alteration in other articles of produce. New potatoes Cd. per lb.

At the annual wool fair at Mullingar,' on the 4th July, the quantity offered fell far short of the demand, there being a very full attend-ance of buyers for the Yorkshire market a large proportion of whom were disappointed. Prime samples of wool were freely bought at
