Ben Travers Explains Failure Of "A Bit Of A Test"

LONDON, May 11.

Ben Travers, whose "A Bit of a Test" began in London on January 31, and is still running successfully, said in an interview with a represen-

tative of the Australian Press Association on the failure of the play in Melbourne, that accordins to reports it was due to the unwillingness of Australians to see themselves caricatured. "The sense of humor of Australians. where they themselves are concerned, is apparently faulty, particularly if cricket is involved," Mr. Travers said. "A sense of humor might have enabled the cricket controversy to have been avoided. Even now a sense of humor would quickly end it." [?'A Bit of A Test" was withdrawn from the Melbourne Comedy Theatre early this week because of the lack of .support. The play opened ou Saturday night.i
