AUSTRALIAN COASTER SOLD. Employed for the last 20 years in the iron ore trade between Whyalla, South Australia,i and Newcastle, the steamer Iron Monarch, of 4,260 tons gross, owned by Interstate Steamships, Ltd.. has been sold to the Madrigal Co., Manila, Philippine Islands. The vessel was built at Sunderland in 1914. She was purchased by Mcllwraith, McEacharn, Ltd., while on the stocks, and named the Koolonga.. After running on the coast for a few years she was acquired in 1917 by Interstate Steamships, Ltd.
