MEMORIAL TO MRS. PRIMROSE WHYTE.

A drinking fountain of polished granite has been erected on the Brighton Espla-nade on the north side of the arch to the memory of Mrs. Primrose Whyte, who

died as the result of an attack by a shark when bathing last summer. By teaching Brighton children to swim, and in many other ways, Mrs. Whyte rendered great service to the community, and a committee, consisting of Miss Tweeddale (convener), Mesdames K. W. Neill, F. Giles. M. A. Inglehart, E. Anthonay, A. L. Giles, J. D. Renner, and C. Whit ing, and Miss Edith Martin, decided to raise funds for the purpose of keeping evergreen the memory of so noble a woman by the erection of a memorial.
