LACK OF POSTAL FACILIIES. Inconvenience Caused at Agnew LAWLERS , Aug. 22. Lack of postal, money order and telegraph facilities for the employees of the Waranga goldmine and for prospectors who live at the new townsite of Agnew, 6½ miles from Lawlers, is causing inconvenience and annoyance. The population of 140 is served by an unofficial post office which is open for two hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Wages totalling £1,000 are paid each fortnight but provision is made at the post office for only £20 in postal notes, £5 in postage stamps, and £5 in financial emergency stamps. No provision s made for money orders. As many men wish to remit money to their families in the metropolitan area, the resources of the post office are exhausted after the wants of only a few men have been attended to, the other men having either to make a 13-mile journey or keep their families waiting until fresh supplies of postal. notes are received by the post office. Representations made to the Postal Department have yet brought no improvement.
