WHAT S IN A NAME ?

CLUMP POINT INSISTENT.

BINGIL BAY MOOTED.

INNISFAIL, January 24.

Amongst the inward correspondence at the monthly meeting of the John-stone Shire Council to-day was a let-ter from Mr. L. M. Cutten regarding the name of the surveyed township at Clump Point. Mr. Cutten stated that he understood that the Post Office situated there was to be called Bingil Bay and and he desired the Council's assistance in retaining the name Clump Point which was known throughout Queens-

land.

OBJECTIONS.

The Council decided to write to the Lands Department placing Mr. Cut

ten's view before them.

If the change in name is made it will probably lead to a great deal of con-fusion.
