THE NORTHERN TERRITORY. [Per the Northern territory Times.] Port Darwin. July 13.

The Government Resident has gone for a cruise on the Adelaide River. At a meeting of ratepayers held this morning Messrs. V. L. Solomon, Joseph

Abbott, and Herbert Mander were elected Councillors, and Messrs. Rudall and Schmidt Auditors. Mr. Charles J. Carleton, son of the late Superintendent of Cemeteries, died at Howley Creek on Friday night. Some of the Overland Telegraph men have struck for an increase of wages. Those who are now receiving 6s. per day demand 7s. Gd. and all rations found. They have been discharged.
