Club News.

COLLINGWOOD has granted a clearance to J. McCoy to transfer to Carlton. The club will entertain the East Fremantle team when it visits here next month, and will also have the West Australian team as its guests at its splendid club room

ST. KILDA supporters will be glad to know that the injury to E. Sanneman's hand is not as severe as at first supposed. His finger is not broken. Roberts, who injured his shoulder, is all right, and both will be avail able on Saturday

FOOTSCRAY has granted clearances to L. Chapple and Harvey, who wish to transfer to Yarraville. The committee fully expects to be able to materially strengthen its ruck in the near future.

WEDNESDAY LEAGUE.

The fine display of the Fire Brigade team last Wednesday greatly pleased its supporters, who believe that the team will defeat the Railways when they next meet. In the first match the brigade lost any chance of victory by inaccuracy on the forward line. Its match against Waterside Workers to day should provide a good contest, for the Waterside team is also improving. The Air Force is hoping to extend the Railways team, the Police expect to defeat Yellow Cabs while the Telegraph team in hopeful of Its prospects against the Red and Checker Calf. "The Argus" has the bye, and will travel to Geelong to play the Grammar School, where the team will be entertained. The programme is as follows:

Fire Brigade v. Waterside Workers, at Fitzroy Railways'.. Air Force, at North Melbourne. Police v. Yellow Cabs, at South Melbourne.

Red and Checker Cabs v. Telegraph, at Prahran.
