FOOTBALL HONOUR LIST.

(6) Don Marinko.

Since the old "boom" days, the goldfields have produced many footballers who- have more than held their own in league teams; and high in the imposing list of goldfields'

champions must be Don Marinko, the ] West Perth and State follower, who for-merly was with Boulder City. Since he joined West Perth four years ago he hàs always been useful, and this season, par-ticularly in the last few weeks, he bas been playing like a champion.

D. MARINKO.

Probably his best display of this season was in the second game against the Vic-torians when he marked the wet ball sur-prisingly well. In club games, he has shown the best form this year against East Fre-mantle and the combine.

Marinko learned the game at Christian Brothers' College, Perth, and later did so well in the goldfields that he was tempted to try his luck in league company. Twentytwo years of age, five feet eleven inches in height, and turning the, scale at four-teen stone seven, he soon made his weight felt with the Cardinals. He is fortunate in his association with McDiarmid in the ruck, but is always useful when spelling, in the forward ranks. He is a left-foot kick, but can use the other if necessary, and he prefers the drop-kick to the punt. If he would forget his tired feeling on the field, he would develop into the State's leading ruck-man.
