Princess's Jewels.

The Archduchess Elizabeth, wife of Prince Alois of Liechtenstein and daugh-ter of the Archduke Karl Ludwig of Aus-tria, has lost in a mysterious manner jewels to the value of many millions of

kronen.

She had arranged to be present at the marriage of Prince Karl of Liechtenstein and Princess Elizabeth of Urach, at Te-gernsee, in Bavaria, and intended to wear on this occasion a portion of her jewels. Alarmed, however, by the insecurity of rail-way travelling, she decided to entrust her jewel-box to the courier of the Hungarian Legation in Vienna. All went well until the precious consignment arrived back in Vienna. lt had been duly sealed by the Hungarian Consul in Munich and addressed to the Liechtenstein Legation in Vienna, and was waiting its transfer from one Legation to the other when it suddenly diappeared. There is no trace of its whereabouts as yet.
