SOLDLERS' LEAGUE.

Social- Committee Formed.

Representotives of metropolitan branches of the Victorian branch of the Returned Sailors and Soldiers Imperial League of Australia agreed in conference last night to form a social and enter-tainment committee, the functions of which would embrace the organising of sports and social activities, the holding of various entertainments at Anzac House and the arranging of inter-branch visits. Mr. N. S. Osborne, a member of the State executive council of the league, presided.

The suggestion that a social committee be formed met with unanimous approval. Already several metropolitan branched, it was reported, had given considerable attention to the social side of their operations, the result of which had been a substantial increase in membership.

It was agreed that a general committee, con-sisting of representatives of each metropolitan branch, be formed. An executive committee was also formed, to which the following delegates were appointed:-Messrs. H. H. Ford, J. McKee, A. Patterson, A. Sterling, J. Hodge, I. C. Cart-mel, R. Quinn, F. R. Webb, G. W. Welfare. H. C. Hills, F. P. Long, A. Smalley, together with B. J. Martin and L. Argoon, of the State

executive committee.

Meetings of the general committee will be held monthly. The flist meeting of the executive committee will be held on October 13, at 3

o'clock.
