JEWELLER SEEKS DIVORCE.
ADELAIDE, Thursday. - A suit for divorce was begun in the Adelaide Civil Court yesterday be- fore Mr. Justice Napier, by Albert Bertram Budgen,
jeweller, of Adelaide, who asked for a dissolution of his marriage with Constance Ethel Budgen (nee Taplin), William Millar Reid being cited as co-
respondent.
Counsel for petitioner said that respondent went through the form of marriage with Reid In the Society Islands in July, 1926, and they lived together as man and wife. At the time she was married to Budgen. Petitioner returned from a trip abroad, and his wife served papers for divorce on him, but the suit was not gone on with, and they lived together again. Petitioner was said to have confessed that he had misconducted him- self, but afterwards withdrew the confession. Re- spondent, counsel added, had alleged that when she married Reid she had obtained a divorce from Budgen In the Society Islands, under French law. PetitÃoner said that when Reid's wife became aware of the state of things there were "terrible ructions," and she threatened to shoot respondent. Neither Mrs. Budgen nor co-respondent appeared in Court. Mr. Justice Napier intimated that he would give his decision next day.
