STAR of the WEEK
ROLF HARRIS, 15-year-old State representative in the
Australian swimming championships at present being
contested in Melbourne, more than justified his inclusion in the team by winning the 110yd. junior backstroke championship of Australia in Melbourne on Saturday. To date this has been the only West Australian success in the championships and, in winning, Harris established a new Victorian record-1.20. Team-mate G. Agnew was third. Harris is a member of the City Swimming Club and
for several seasons has been runner-up to Agnew in a number of title
events. He created great interest in the last Swim Through Perth by swimming the distance of one mile and three quarters using back-
stroke all the way. He is in his fourth year at the Perth Modern
School.
