AUSTRALIA'S

FIRST WOMAN

ROSE HYBRIDIST

INTO the sphere of rose rais-1

mg has come mere woman, j

and the distinction of being Australia's first woman rose hybridist to secure overseas

recognition goes to Mrs. H. C. Fitzhardinge, of New South Wales.

The name given to the new rose is "Warrawee," and it is being simultane-ously distributed in Europe, America and Australia. It is described as being es-sentially a woman's rose. An aristocrat in regard to shape, of a daintily refined colour, pleasantly fragrant, and pro-ducing beautiful blooms on extra long stems, if; its description. In short, it is just as if it were expressly made to "milady's" specifications for house and garden decoration. It is a prolific bearer,

makes abundant wood, is unusually vigor-ous, and in this respect is far ahead of many imported varieties. The colour is rosy salmon on the outside, with an inner face bf silvery pink, gradually fad-ing to lighter shades as the bloom ages.

Warrawee has been thoroughly. tested for six years, and has been awarded a bronze medal by the National Rose So-ciety of New South Wales, and first prize for the best seedling rose. This is suffi* cient evidence that Warrawee is worth growing in everybody's garden, and as plants are now available, there is sure to be a rush to obtain a bush of this beautiful rose.
