TOWN HALL SITE.
Union Jack Square Advocated.
Lecturing to members of the Town Plan-ning Institute on Thursday night, the Town Planning Commissioner (Mr. D. L. Davidson advocated a site in the vicin-ity of Union Jack Square, at the southern end of Barrack-street, for the erection of a town hall for Perth. At the outset, Mr. Davidson made it clear that his remarks were made as a member of the institute, and not as Town Planning Commissioner. He
used a large number of slides, depicting, civic centres in many town in Europe, England, and America, to show the benefits which accrued to a community from the careful selection of a civic centre. Mr. C. Klem presided at the meeting.
