NEW THOUGHTS.
By Lilian Wooster Greaves
Ages agone God's finger touched & star, And. like a runner eager for the nace,
The light leaped o'er the wide-spread
fields of space.
The centuries had left their gates .ajar. Milleniums were mountains to be passed;
Planets the lampe that lit each heavenly
street ;
Meteors the dust beneath his flying
feet;
Aeons were deserts crossed; until at
last
The i>mner, all unwearied, reached his
goal.
Hailey thc fair earth, and lit my lattice
pane.

The newest thought that luminates a
soul,
Th« latent truth to penetrate a brain God touched t\iem into being long ago.
