TIMBER TRAIN DERAILED

NINE LIVES LOST.

Bunbury, Nov. 7.

The most tragic railway accident in the history of Western Australia occurred on in the Mornington timber line, near Bunbury, in the darkness of Saturday night. Nine lives were lost and two persons were in-jured through the derailment of a timber train which, apparently, getting beyond control, dashed down a steep gradient and

ran off the line on curve in a cutting at a spot about two and a half miles from the main line at Wokalup.

KILLED.

The names of the persons killed are as follow:—

JOHN DENIS LEITCH, married; re-latives reside at Victoria Park.

ELLIS S. LAKE, single; brother-in-law, named Hyde, resides at Belmont.

JAMES P. McNAMARA, returned soldier,

relatives not known.

WILLIAM MALARCARI, single; parents reside at Spearwood.

FRANK V. WINFIELD, single; friend of George Auborn, Bedford Hotel, Perth.

EDWARD P. DELANEY, returned sol-dier, single.

THOMAS WILTON, single; son of mill traffic manager.

JOHN GODFIELD PAULSON, guard of train (died from injuries).

WALTER MAGGS, married.

INJURED.
