"CROYDON,"

SITUATED : 80 miles from Roebourne and 20 miles from port of Whim Creek, with which it is connected by telephone. AREA, TENURE and RENTAL: 450,000 acres Pastoral Leases. Leese expires 1948, subject to the Land Act Amendment Act. 1917. Rental, 20s. per 1,000 acres per annum. RAINFALL; About 15 inches. WATER; Pools in the two Sherlock Rivers, also 20 Wells. IM-PROVEMENTS: 220 miles of fencing, New Homestead, and new men's quarters shearing shed with six machine stands.

STOCK : About 11,000 sheep, including 2,000 Wethers. 4 and 6 tooth; 2,700

cattle, including 400 bullocks ready for market, 150 horses, 1 team of camels

REMARKS: The station is an old-established one, and has yielded good profits to former owners. It bas proved suitable for both sheep and cattle and has always been regarded as a safe pastoral proposition

"PERON PENINSULA,"

SITUATED: At Shark Bay, 70 miles south of Carnarvon The port and township of Denham, connected by telegraph, is. on the lease. AREA : 263,000 acres Pastoral Lease. Lease expires 1948, select to Land Act Amendment Act. 1917. Rental 20s per 1,000 acres per annum. WATER : Amply watered by beach wells, the water for the back paddock. being conveyed by piping from these wells. There are 16 mills. IMPROVEMENTS A comfortable and roomy homestead of wood and iron at the. town od Denham. There are about 130 miles of fencing, en-closing 25 sheep paddocks, and several horse paddocks, shearing shed, and all improvements require for carrying on the place. The sea takes the place of many miles of fencing, A machine shearing plant consisting of eight Moffat Virtue stands, with Crossley engine, is installed. STOCK: 12,000 sheep; 30 horses, 1 camel team, a few dairy cattle. REMARKS: The Lease has been stocked for the past

30 years. The homestead is in the township, which consists of 80 to 100 people. A butchering business is run in connection with the station, with a turnover of about £350 to £400 p a. The Shearing Shed being on the beach the wool is lightered direct from the shed to the steamer at a cost of 2s. 6d. per bale. Freight of steamer cargo from Fremantle is 12s-6d-, pud lighterage from steamer to beach is 12s. ed. per ton- From 20-25,000 sheep can be carried on the stationThere is an abundance of wanyu timber suitable for fencing. The country consists chiefly of red sandy loam, and the feed consists of saltbush, grass, soft spinifex, and a variety of edible shrubs. The State steamer calls ot *he port coming and going on her'monthly trip, and anchors about one mile from the town.

«DIRK HARTOG ISLAND,"

SITUATED: In Shark Bay. The town of Denham is 22 miles distant by sea, with which there is constant boat communication. AREA, TENURE and RENTAL: 153,000 acres Pastoral Lease. Lease expires 1948, subject to tho Land Act Amendment Act, 1917. Rental, 20s. per 1,000 acres P*t. WATER: The island is excellently supplied with water. There are 17 mills- RAINFALL: 13incLes. IMPROVEMENTS : The island is divided into 17 paddocks by 60 miles of fencing. The homestead comprises 6tx rooms. New men's quartet's, costing about) £1,000. have recently been erected. Sheaving Shed is equipped with eight Wolseley Machines, Stockyards. Out Camps, etc STOCK : 18 - to 20,000 sheep, 50 horses, 15 Camels, 20 Dairy Cows (pure Jersey). SITUATED : 120 miles from Onslow on the Glenflorrie Creek and between the

Ashburton and Henry Rivers.

AREA: 630.481 acres Pastoral Lease

RENTAL and TENURE: Rental to the Crown is 20s. per 1,000 acres per annum. The lease expires on Desember 31. 1948, and is subject to the provisions contained in Section 29 of tho Land Act Amendment Act, 1917.

WATERS: The Glenflorrie Creek containing many permanent pools runs for 24 miles through the Lease, and the Henry River also contains permanent poolsWell water may be obtained abundantly almost everywhere on the run at an aver-age depth of 50ft. There arc 12 wells, eight of which are equipped with mills,

tanks and troughs.

RAINFALL: Average about 10 inches.
