Second Division Contest On Saturday

SECOND division clubs will commence on Saturday the first games in the one-round points competition. Merton Rovers did not

nominate their team, stating that the club intended to concentrate on the development of their first division team, which is in danger of relegation. Arrangements were completed at a meeting last night of the Brisbane and Districts Football Association to entertain the English team at a social at the Canberra on Tuesday, July 13, during their visit to Queensland. Mr. A. Hudson was appointed to referee tomorrow night's State trial match under floodlight, when Queensland will meet the Rest In preparation for the match with the Englishmen on July 14. The linesmen will be Messrs. B. Mur-sh and C. Blalcely. This match, which will commence nt 8 p.m., will be preceded by h ciirtuln-ralser, commencing at 6.30 p.m. Officials to control the early fixture are Mr. R. Lugton (referee), Messrs. C. Stone and H.
