SYDNEY, JULY 21. BANK MEETINGS.

The half-yearly meeting of the Commercial Banking Company of Sydney was held to-day. The balance-sheet showed that the balance at profit and loss amounted to £59,000, out of which a dividend at the rate of 8 per cent was declared, and a sum of £19,000 carried forward. Sir Edward Knox, the chairman, In moving the adoption of the report and balance-sheet, said that every bank now showed an advance, and the general prospects of the colony appeared to be more encouraging than at any time during the past four years. The report and balance-sheet were adopted, and Mr G. J. Cohen was re-elected director.

At the half-yearly meeting of the City Bank of Sydney to-day the balance-sheet showed a net profit of £8000, and a dividend of 4 per cent was declared.
