A BOY VIOLINIST.

MASTER HARLEY POPE.

At the age of 12 years Master Harley Pope, and exceptionally brilliant violinist, of Croydon Park, had gained eight certi-ficates from the Associated Board of the

R.A.M. and R.OJI^ London, including the special and advanced grade honors. He was the first in Australia, to gain advanced grade honors at such an early age. He played on a three-quarter size violin, a full size being too large for him to handle. last year, at the Adelaide Bands Association competition, he was

awarded the gold medal in the under 16 section, and this year he gained the gold medal for first place, with 95 marks out of 100. The adjudicator remarked that his was a splendid performance. This quiet and unassuming lad has been en-gaged for the Port Adelaide Orpheus So-ciety's concert at the Semaphore Town Hall on Tuesday next.
