DIVER DEAD WHEN BROUGHT UP

While engaged yesterday afternoon on diving scenes for the picture "Typhoon Treasure," a Commonwealth Films Laboratory production being

filmed at Green Island, near Cairns, and directed by Noel Monkman. one or the employes, James BelL 39, single, whose relatives are believed to live at Wattle Glen, Victoria, lost his life. Members or the underwatsr section of tbe production were working on the reef about a mile from the jetty when the tragedy occurred. Bruce Cummings. who was in charge of the submarine photography, went down in a diving cylinder, followed a few minures later by the diver. Bell. A few minutes later when the diving cylinder came into the correct position to shoot tiie scene. Cummings noticed something wrong ?with Bell. Cummings spoke to the surface. When the diver was brought up he was dead. A post-mortem examination was beld at Cairns today, when it was found that death was due to myocarditis.
