Joining The Goldfish Club

Money, position or power cannot gain a man or woman entry to the exclusive circels of the Goldfish Club To become a member one has to

float about upon the sea for a considerable period with nothing but a Carley Rubber Float between one and a watery death. These Carley floats are part of the equipment of trans-ocean aeroplanes. When the floats hit the water they are immediately selfinflated to the size of a small boat Before that they are about the size of a rubber motor car tube. Persons who have been saved by these floats make application for membership to the English firm which makes the floats. 'Hie firm then issues a card to the person rescued giving details of his adventure. The card is beautifully designed with a silver winged goldfish floating on a blue background, and is sealed in a protective cellophane envelope. Sgt. Burt Broad, of Burra, is applying for membership.
